Prior to working as a hairdresser, Dennis worked in an oilfield, attended computer school, and served for 4 years in the Army. Shortly thereafter he was inspired by a hairdresser to give hairstyling a shot, and was immediately hooked. Once he started working with hair, his career took off and his work experience has become nothing short of impressive.
Dennis has 25 seasons styling backstage for top fashion designers during New York Fashion Week, and Seoul Fashion Week under his belt. He was also named lead hairdresser for Fashion Houston and has taught other professionals in over 30 countries including Canada, Australia, Europe, and Korea.
Dennis’ work can be seen published in numerous publications worldwide. He also created and styled looks for the Autumn/Winter 2005 Collection which was released internationally. In 2014, Dennis was named RAW Artists Hairstylist of the Year for North America and listed as one of Houston’s most stylish people in 2015 by the Houston Chronicle. During this time he also co-founded and owned Dionysus Salon and Spa.
Some of the people that Dennis has worked with and who have inspired him include Antoinette Benders, Peter Fray, David Adams, Eugene Souleiman, Odile Gilbert, Orlando Pita, Oscar Bond, Nick Arrojo, and Rodney Cutler. He has taken this inspiration to create his fearless approach to being creative while still catering to his clients’ aesthetic. Dennis has a unique approach to his craft which includes experience, creativity, spontaneity, punctuality, and professionalism. His clients would describe his work as visionary, technical, creative, and fitting to the project. He is always able to help create and complete the story they want to tell.
Dennis also creates one of a kind head and hairpieces, and believes in creating without fear. His vision and passion truly stand out and it is no small wonder that he has received so many accolades for his craft, with many more surely to come.
